I’m Richard Lyday — a software engineer who builds things that connect, automate, and endure. I wrote my first lines of code at 13 on a TI-85 calculator, and I’ve been exploring how software and systems work ever since. Over the years, that curiosity grew into a career focused on designing and supporting reliable, secure infrastructure — whether in healthcare, manufacturing, or media technology.
My work blends deep technical understanding with hands-on experimentation. I spend my time engineering backend systems, building servers and automation pipelines, and experimenting with drones, gaming servers, and robotics — projects that blur the line between creativity and engineering.
At my core, I’m driven by the same impulse that started it all: to take things apart, understand them, and rebuild them better than before.
